The Curie Club
The curie club- the science forum of the college was started almost three decades ago with the sole purpose of creating awareness about the relevance of science to modern society and to ignite concern for scientific issues which affect personal , social, environmental and technological contexts.
Objectives of the club
- To inculcate scientific temper and build experimentation and research among the students.
- To facilitate student success science discipline.
- To develop habits of exploration and to ignite creative and inventive faculties in students.
- To keep the students informed about the recent advances in science and their effect on human life.
- To encourage students to participate actively in individual group activities.
- To promote the use of IT in science education.
- To understand scientific concepts through experimentation.
Activities of science club
- Organizing lectures, seminars and workshops by eminent personalities from institutes/organizations of repute.
- Holding science exhibitions and summer science camps/ lab sessions for school students.
- Arranging visits to places of scientific interest such as Indian Institute of Science, Railway coach Factory, Soap Factory etc.
- Preparing charts, posters, models etc.
- Organizing lecture competitions, science quiz, collage competitions, and many more mathematical competitions like suduko for students.
- Displaying science news.
- Workshops are conducted to teach students techniques of preparing soap, chalk, nail polish etc.
